Profile

UB studio is a woman-owned design and architecture practice led by Chantelle Brewer. Chantelle has more than 25 years experience working in several metropolitan areas, including Boston, New York and Chicago. Her broad range of work includes many projects in the public realm and with many award winning design firms. Previous work includes art installation proposals, interior design, school and child care projects, large scale transportation projects, restaurants and new construction. Founded in 2019, UB studio has collaborated with owners, contractors and other design firms to produce design-build and design-bid-build projects, with a focus on close consultation with contractors and material fabricators.
UB studio is committed to a collaborative design approach with all team members throughout the design and construction process. We are passionate about materials and authenticity in art and architecture. We are always searching for the best material for a particular job and developing details and refining building systems to express the story behind the materials used. We are also passionate about listening to contractors and fabricators, to understand the best methods for installing and maintaining our projects. We believe that the craft of the project should be part of its story, and should be part of the pride of its making for the owner and community that it serves.
UB studio is also committed to making beautiful and thoughtful art and architecture. We understand that our built environment impacts all lives, and will continue to reflect our society’s spirit for generations to come. We want to make our world a better place, and contribute to the making of our city in a meaningful way. Our work hopes to reflect the values of the owners and community that the project serves, as well as infuse each place with an optimism for our shared future. We believe that the spirit of each project is unique and tailored to the particular needs of the communities that they serve. We hope to inspire everyone to keep transforming our neighborhoods with a delight and beauty that will be appreciated by people from all walks of life for generations.
